Considers the general characteristics of schools as organisations and the impact of organisational culture and relationships on school effectiveness. Aimed at post graduate students in the fields of educational management, leadership and organisational theory in education, as well as leaders and managers at all levels in the education system. Contents include the following: The education system in relation to its environment; dimensions of organisational health in the school; organisational development and the quality of working life in schools; a framework for the management of diversity; management strategies for the caring role of the principal.
